About Delta Trust
History
Delta Trust & Banking Corp. was formed in June 1999 as the collaborative effort of three banking families with over 300 years' combined experience in Arkansas banking.
Delta Trust & Bank grew out of the Bank of Parkdale, founded in 1910. Eventually, through a merger with Wilmot State Bank, it became Southeast Arkansas Bank. It endured the Great Depression and helped meet the financial needs brought about by World War II industrialization. Since the turn of the century, the Pugh family has been associated with banking in Ashley County. Board of Director member Thomas R. Pugh, Jr. continues that legacy today with Delta Trust.
Jay W. Hill, our Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer's grandfather, was a fixture in the Arkansas financial landscape, founding the respected investment brokerage house of Hill, Crawford & Lanford Inc. in 1933. Continuing in this tradition, J. French Hill brings over 25 years experience in banking and investments to Delta Trust.
The Penick name has long been associated with Worthen Bank, which was founded in 1877. James H. Penick, who worked at Worthen for over 50 years, is the father of Carroll Penick, our bank's president. Carroll started his career when statements were hand delivered. He brings this understanding of personal service in addition to his knowledge of cutting-edge banking technology.
It seems only natural that our families should come together in this enterprise. We understand the importance of family and the significance of financial planning to the longevity of family business. Let us help you bridge the gap between personal and business banking. You'll see the difference, we promise.
