Dick Beck
Richard was born and reared in Fayette County, Illinois graduating from high school in 1956. He enlisted in the Army in 1957 and went to cryptograph school at Ft. Gordon, Georgia. After being discharged from the Army in 1959 he was employed with Oliver Corporation, a farm machinery factory and worked there until 1963.
In April 1963 he started as a claims adjuster for Country Mutual Insurance Company in Illinois. During his tenure, he serviced large losses including fire, storms, arson and fraud in eleven counties. He became a claims supervisor with (14) employees servicing (5) counties. In 1995 he joined an (8) eight person auditing team within the company. The team traveled and worked “audit claim payments” for regional offices in eleven states. He retired in 1998 after working with the company more than 34 years.
He and his wife Janet moved to Bella Vista in March 2002. They both enjoy golfing and he is currently the chairman for the “Friends of the Highlands Golf Committee”.
