Long Term Care
Skilled in-home nursing care and nursing home costs have risen dramatically over the last several years. Some projections estimate that these cost will continue to rise and that as many as one out of two people may need long term care at some point during their life. Without insurance protection, these expenses can wipe out your savings in a short period of time. Delta Trust Insurance Agency offers two ways to help you guard against the high cost of long term health care.
- Traditional long term care insurance provides a daily or monthly benefit payment to you or your care giver in the event that you need these services. You can select the amount of benefit to purchase and length of time the benefit will last. This type of insurance is usually paid with a monthly or annual premium. The policy can be designed to be paid up within 10 years.
- A linked benefit policy is a life insurance policy that is typically funded with a one time cash deposit which will provide not only long term care benefits but also a tax free death benefit. If the long term care benefits are not used during the life time of the insured person, their beneficiary receives the death benefit.
