TYPES OF MUTUAL FUNDS
Mutual Funds are an easy and relatively low cost way to invest. Through mutual funds one’s investments are diversified into many small investments. This creates a safer investment portfolio because it spreads risk out through many investments.
STOCK FUNDS
These are the same as equity funds, they are primarily invested in stocks. They are the most risky of the three types of bonds. Over a short period of time they can rise and fall, however over the long term they tend to be stable.
BOND FUNDS
These types of funds are invested in government or corporate bonds. They are often added to a investment portfolio to increase returns because they provide steady interest.
MONEY MARKET FUNDS
These are short-term investments in low cost per share stocks, and by law only specific high-quality ones can be invested in.
